Sichuan Tianyi Science and Technology Co. Ltd has recently announced the delivery, from the port of Shanghai, of a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit it manufactured for use in Brunei, which is the largest of its kind to be exported.
The unit is for the purification of hydrogen and is the auxiliary system of an 8 million tonnes per year (tpy) oil refinery project in Brunei.
As reported, the oil refinery project is one of the benchmark projects of the Belt and Road Initiative, and Tianyi has to provide all the parts and equipment since the manufacturing and transportation capabilities in Brunei are not considered appropriate.
Based in Chengdu city, the provincial capital of Sichuan province, Sichuan Tianyi is specialised in PSA technology, catalysts, C1 chemistry and engineering design. It is also a listed company on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, with 2017 operating revenue of RMB 526.85m ($83.77m) and the profit attributable to shareholders is RMB 58.88m ($9.36m), a year-on-year increase of 34.56% and 117.19%, respectively.
