Yemen LNG plays key role in press conference and 16th International Conference on Liquefied Natural Gas.
May has been a busy month for Yemen LNG. Not only has the General Manager held a major press conference, but the company also played a key role as gold sponsor of the 16th International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 16).
Earlier this month over 15 journalists representing major local media outlets in Yemen, met the General Manager of Yemen LNG, Francois Rafin. Topics covered during the press conference included explanation of gas prices and factors affecting gas prices worldwide.
Rafin highlighted Yemen LNG’s diversion activities which seek to “optimise the value of sales by seizing opportunities in Europe and Asia and consequently provide prices better than those in the US.” Raffan added, “Seven diversions have already occurred since the start of LNG exports last November and ten more are scheduled until the end of the year.”
The conference also touched on Yemen LNG’s involvement at the LNG 16. Over 180 exhibitors took part in the event which was held in the Oran City of Algeria, Yemen. During the press briefing particular mention was made of visitors to the company exhibition. These included the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Chakib Khlil, Qatari Minister of Oil, Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Atyyah, Russian Minister of Energy, Sergei Shmatko, and the Yemeni Minister of Oil and Minerals, Ameer Salem Al-Aydarous.
