Global engineering company Worley has won a contract to evaluate carbon dioxide (CO2) gathering, handling, and sequestration facilities for Bayou Bend CCS in southeast Texas.
A joint venture between Chevron, Equinor, and TotalEnergies, Bayou Bend CCS is believed to be the first offshore stratigraphic well for carbon capture and storage (CCS) in US state waters.
The project includes a CO2 storage footprint of nearly 140,000 acres of pore space.
In support of the development, Worley will carry out the design and evaluation scope of work for the project from its Houston office, with support from its global integrated delivery teams in India.
