Global energy company Woodside has signed a 20-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales and purchase agreement with Mexico Pacific Limited.
Announced today (6th December), the deal will see Mexico Pacific supply Woodside with 1.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) from its Saguaro Energia LNG project.
Meg O’Neill, CEO of Woodside, notes the agreement as a new source of LNG in the company’s trading portfolio. The deal also expands Woodside’s geographic diversification in the Pacific Basin.
O’Neill continued, “As we deliver on our strategy, we aim to complement Woodside’s produced LNG supply with third parties’ volumes, giving us greater scale and portfolio flexibility to serve our customers while optimising our LNG trading activities.”
