WIKA gives ‘facelift’ to pressure gauge tech

Technology manufacturer WIKA has unveiled a refreshed design for its stainless steel pressure gauges and mechanical thermometers, featuring a distinctive ‘blue identity’ that enhances both functionality and brand recognition.

The newly redesigned gauges showcase visible elastomer parts in the brand’s signature blue, aiming to ensure identification as part of WIKA’s product lineup. 

“Our goal was to create a visual identity that not only stands out but also signifies quality and reliability,” said a WIKA spokesperson. This branding move aims to reinforce WIKA’s position in the market while making it easier for users to recognise genuine products, thus minimising the risk of unauthorised imitations.

WIKA has also introduced QR codes on the dials of its gauges. By scanning the code, users can access a standardised WIKA product passport that provides comprehensive data about the respective instrument. “The QR code simplifies the user experience, allowing for immediate access to essential specifications and manuals right at their fingertips,” the spokesperson added.

The contour of the window seal has also been altered, eliminating metallic surfaces within the gauge case. According to WIKA, this reduces glare from sunlight and other bright conditions, making it easier for users to read measurements clearly, particularly in outdoor settings. “Visibility is paramount for our customers, and these improvements directly address that need,” the company said.

Earlier this year, WIKA expanded its A2G measurement portfolio with the addition of new electronic pressure sensors designed for demanding applications.

According to the company, A2G-500, A2G-520 and A2G-540 feature a high measurement accuracy, modular structure and can be easily integrated into both new and existing air-handling units.

The A2G-500 measures differential pressure, gauge pressure and vacuum with a measurement accuracy of ±0.5 %, while the A2G-520 is used on components such as ventilators, where it measures the pressure difference and calculates the air flow precisely based on a calibration factor. The A2G-540 is used to control differential pressure and air flow.
