Mason County, West Virginia has been selected for a $2bn carbon-neutral hydrogen production facility and data centre campus, the Mountaineer GigaSystem™ and Monarch Cloud Campus™.
One of two “high impact industrial business districts” in West Virginia, the project will consist of four phases, with each phase producing over 500 metric tonnes of Net Zero hydrogen per day.
The first phase of the project is expected to commence operations in 2028.
Decarbonisation specialist Fidelis New Energy® is heading the project and will utilise its FidelisH2® technology to produce carbon-free hydrogen from a combination of natural gas, renewable energy, and carbon capture, utilisation, and sequestration (CCUS).
