Automotive manufacturer Volvo Trucks has taken the next step in its journey to Net Zero following the launch of its new biogas-powered heavy-duty vehicle, an upgraded version of its Volvo FH and FM range.
Having introduced itself to the biogas-powered transport market five years ago, Volvo Trucks’ new vehicles build upon the previous 420 and 460 horsepower (hp) trucks with an engine capable of displacing 500 hp.
Equipped with technical upgrades that increase fuel efficiency by up to 4%, the vehicles also come with a 10% larger fuel tank, contributing to a longer range and reducing emissions.
“Biogas is a great complement to electric transports, helping hauliers with their sustainability ambitions and aims towards climate neutral transport,” commented Daniel Bergstrand, Product Manager for gas-powered trucks at Volvo Trucks.
