US liquefied natural gas (LNG) firm Venture Global has launched its first vessel that will transport LNG from its US-based LNG projects across the globe.
The ship, dubbed the Venture Gator, is the first of nine LNG carriers in the Venture Global fleet to be manufactured in South Korea over the next two years.
Each vessel will utilise environmental and efficiency technology and will be primarily fuelled by Venture Global’s LNG.
Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global, said that the ships will increase the security of natural gas supply, through low-cost LNG delivered directly to allies across the world.
