US Energy Corporation has acquired acreage in Montana as part of its goal to produce helium across the Kevin Dome structure in Toole County.
The news was confirmed with a signed agreement with Wavetech Helium, which controls helium gas reserves in Colorado, Kansas, and Montana. It is thought that the acquired land has several prospective helium pay zones consisting primarily of inert nitrogen and carbon dioxide heavy zones.
US Energy Corporation wants to start spudding on the Wavetech asset in late July and early August 2024.
Ryan Smith, CEO of US Energy Corporation, said, “The company believes that it has positioned itself to exploit what we anticipate will be a transformational resource and economic opportunity in an area with which we have a longstanding community footprint.”
