The International Beverage Dispensing Equipment Association (IBDEA) has partnered with Michigan-based soda syrups, beverage gases, and equipment installation business Leonard’s Syrups to launch a new educational programme aimed at advancing standards in draught beverage dispensing.
The IBDEAU Leonard Bugajewski Learning Centre consists of two core programmes – the draught beverage academy and the dispensed beverage academy. It will be hosted at Leonard’s Syrups’ facility in Michigan.
The academy will cover soda system setup, CO2 safety, and equipment operation, while the draught beverage academy will focus on draught beer system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Leonard Bugajewski, CEO of Leonard’s Syrups, said the initiative would help to build a new generation of industry professionals.
“The academy is designed to empower beverage and gas professionals with knowledge and the confidence to innovate and excel in their craft.”
In the future, the IBDEA and Leonard’s Syrups want to set up additional courses, with bulk CO2 training likely to be one of the additions.
According to Intelligas Consulting, food and beverage accounts for 70% of higher-purity merchant CO2 supply, with brewing responsible for a large percentage of this.
