The US Department of Energy (DOE) will invest up to $1bn as part of a demand-side hydrogen initiative in support of the Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs programme, that hopes to establish up to 10 regional hubs across the US.
Funded by President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the programme will help lay a foundation for a national clean hydrogen network to help slash emissions across energy-intensive sectors.
It will also support the US’ wider goal to be a Net Zero emissions economy by 2050.
