The US Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and the India Electronics Semiconductor Association (IESA) have formalised plans to form a private-sector taskforce to strengthen semiconductor collaborations between the two countries.
Both parties share the same goal of strengthening the high-demand marketplace in their respective regions, but now plan on further growing the global semiconductor ecosystem through the new partnership.
John Neuffer, President of SIA, said, “India is already a major hub for semiconductor research, chip design, and equipment engineering, but its future potential is even greater.”
The taskforce hopes to create a ‘readiness assessment’ backed on India’s semiconductor market and bring industry, government, and academic stakeholders together to identify both near- and long-term opportunities.
