Biogas is ‘absolutely what the world needs’ right now and represents a win, win, win elephant in the room in the transition to Net Zero.
Further still, the biogas business presents a number of value-add opportunities across industry and is also arguably the most cost-effective means of decarbonisation in this decade.
That’s the view of Charlotte Morton OBE, Chief Executive of both the World Biogas Association (WBA) and the UK’s Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ABDA), who told gasworld TV in May (2023) that biogas is ‘absolutely what the world needs’ if the world is going to keep temperatures to ‘anywhere close’ to 1.5ºC.
The clock is ticking on decarbonisation and sustainability, with 2030 so often cited as a short-term timeline for more immediate goals on the path to Net Zero.
