US based Universal Cryo Gas (UCG) has begun production of nitrogen at a newly installed on-site gas production facility serving a speciality chemicals manufacturing complex in North Carolina.
The UCG plant supplies pipelined nitrogen gas to the complex from a cryogenic nitrogen generator which was supplied, installed and commissioned by Universal Industrial Gases (UIG), an affiliated company.
Sam Piazza, president of UIG, said: “We are pleased to have provided UCG with the equipment and services required to meet the needs of their customer. UCG chose to use a reconditioned nitrogen plant, customized to meet their site requirements, allowing UCG to not only offer their customer attractive product pricing, but also bring the unit on-steam in much less time than would have been the case with an all-new plant.”
