The UK Government has outlined the importance of biomass in generating a green economy and reaching Net Zero targets with the release of its new Biomass Strategy 2023.
Building upon the government’s Biomass policy statement published in November 2021, the strategy aims to help the UK to support the scale-up and deployment of biomass technology and reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The decarbonisation challenge encompasses a range of complex hard-to-abate sectors such as transportation, power generation, industry, agriculture and residential emissions.
