Houston-based carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) development platform Trace Carbon Solutions (Trace) has secured over $230m of capital investments to support the development of projects that will help reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The news comes as specialist decarbonisation investor, Climate Investment, today (22nd August) announced its investment in Trace, through which the pair will partner to develop CCS projects globally.
Climate Investment has expertise in CCS, providing both the risk capital and the technical expertise necessary to drive forward CCS technologies and projects. To date, CI has invested in eight companies in the sector through its maiden Catalyst Fund.
Joey Bernica, Investment Principal at Climate Investments, notes that Trace’s focus on working collaboratively with partners to reduce industrial CO2 emissions reflects CI’s own operating ethos.
