French energy firm TotalEnergies has signed a three-year 100-gigawatt hours (GWh) biomethane deal with Saint-Gobain, beginning in 2024.
Under terms of the deal, TotalEnergies will supply the manufacturing company with biomethane produced at its BioBéarn plant, which came on stream earlier this year.
The BioBéarn plant is certified sustainable by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification under the sustainability criteria of the European Union REDII Directive, making TotalEnergies one of the first producers to obtain this certification in France.
