Energy technology and solutions company Topsoe has signed a deal with CF Industries to help develop a potential new low-carbon ammonia plant in Louisiana.
Under terms of a contract announced today (1st May), Topsoe will provide the licensing and engineering supporting a front-end engineering and design (FEED) study.
As part of the deal, Topsoe will also license its advanced SynCOR Ammonia™ technology to CF Industries. When used with carbon capture and storage (CCS), the SynCOR technology can produce ammonia with very low carbon emissions.
Henrik Rsmussen, Managing Director of the Americas at Topsoe, says that low-carbon ammonia will help unlock the door towards a Net Zero future.
