Topsoe, a global leader in carbon emission reduction technologies, has joined forces with Aramco, a global integrated energy and chemicals company, to introduce eREACT technology for low-carbon hydrogen production.
Topsoe’s eREACT technology is a platform designed to produce low-carbon hydrogen, offering the potential to make significant strides in cutting carbon emissions.
Under this partnership, Aramco and Topsoe will construct a demonstration plant at the Shaybah Natural Gas Liquids recovery plant in Saudi Arabia. This project will employ renewable electricity to power electrified steam reforming of natural gas, yielding low-carbon hydrogen. The carbon dioxide (CO2) generated in this process will be safely sequestered.
Elena Scaltritti, Chief Commercial Officer at Topsoe, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Aramco through which we demonstrate an innovative solution for producing low-carbon hydrogen. The cornerstone of this collaboration is Topsoe’s eREACT, which is a groundbreaking technology platform producing low-carbon fuels and chemicals while eliminating flue gas emissions.”
