For two weeks in 2021, the world was gripped by all facets of climate change at COP26 in Glasgow – the science, solutions, political will, and plans of action. But two COPs and three years later, how much progress has really been made?
1. Climate funding
One of the thorniest issues at previous COPs, but increasingly front-and-centre of everyone’s minds as climate threats continue to increase in their number and intensity.
Developed countries came to Glasgow falling short on their promise to deliver $100bn a year for developing countries. Voicing “regret,” the Glasgow outcome reaffirmed the pledge and urged developed countries to fully deliver on the three-figure goal urgently. Developed countries, in a report, expressed confidence that the target would be met in 2023.
