The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) has made an urgent call for the sale of the Federal Helium Reserve System (FHR) to be delayed once again.
Located in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, the FHR provides 20% of the US helium supply and will soon be in the hands of a private buyer.
However, with a week until the sealed bidding date opens, the CGA has, for the third time, called for the sale to be delayed due to concerns that may impact the US helium supply chain.
Rich Gottwald, President and CEO of the CGA, emphasised helium’s critical role in the supply chain for products that are essential to economic growth.
