Equigas, a customer-driven family company, is dedicated to the distribution of gas equipment to the North American cryogenic and compressed gas, specialty gas, medical gas, hydrogen, and LNG industries. The company was founded in 1985 by Antonio Arvelo and now calls itself the ‘one-stop-shop for the gas industry’, offering same-day shipping and technical support.
Equigas has grown over the years by bringing in new developments from its manufacturers and suppliers and by working with customers to understand their product needs. These discussions often lead to the design of new solutions together with the manufacturer, sometimes resulting in a personalised product. Today, its catalogue boasts some well-recognised manufacturers in the industrial gas market, including, but not limited to, RegO (OPW), ACME Cryogenics (OPW), Superior Products (OPW), Fiba, Apollo, CPV, Sherwood, FasTest, Emerson, Bestobell, and Flowserve.
Here, in the latest instalment of gasworld’s 12 Days of Content series, we speak to Rafael Arvelo, President and CEO of Equigas. Arvelo tells us more about the company’s new headquarters, the company’s stand-out moments from the year, and what his wish for the industrial gases market would be.
