Texas LNG Brownsville, a subsidiary of Glenfarne Energy Transition, has signed a non-binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) to supply 0.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG to an undisclosed market participant.
While the customer’s name has not been disclosed, it has been said that they’re a “top-tier credit-rated market participant.” The customer will purchase the LNG under a long-term free-on-board sales and purchase contract.
Located in the Pot of Brownsville, Texas LNG is a four million tonnes per annum export terminal, with commercial operations set to begin in 2028.
Brendan Duval, CEO and Founder, Glenfarne Energy Transition and Co-President of Texas LNG, said the agreement positions Texas LNG on the verge of sell out. The company has confirmed it is in advanced negotiations for the remaining volume of the project.
