Tenaris has introduced its latest innovation, THera Seal, at the World Hydrogen 2024 Summit & Exhibition, taking place at the Rotterdam Ahoy complex in the Netherlands from May 13th-15th.
Building on Tenaris’s experience in metal-to-metal connections suited for extreme weather conditions, the THera Seal is designed specifically for high-pressure gaseous hydrogen storage.
The design aims to integrate the storage vessel and the sealing system, eliminating the need for additional components such as elastomeric seals, O-rings, or gaskets to maintain pressure integrity.
“This new sealing system offers many benefits, including a simplified assembly process, extended lifespan, compatibility with hydrogen, and suitability for fast decompression rates,” said Maurizio Bellingardi, Senior Product Manager of Hydrogen Technology Applications.
