Sustainable engineering and technology company Technip Energies has joined forces with Canadian carbon capture company Svante to explore industrial carbon capture projects in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Russia.
By using Svante’s solid sorbent technology to capture carbon directly from industrial post-combustion flue gases, the partners intend to create solutions for sectors such as cement & limestone, blue hydrogen, refineries, petrochemicals, steel, ammonia and pulp & paper facilities.
This technology functions by capturing carbon dioxide (CO2), concentrating it before releasing for safe storage or use, all within 60 seconds.
Commenting on the collaboration, Arnaud Pieton, CEO, Technip Energies, stated that the partnership reflects the significant role of industrial-scale technologies to accelerate the transition towards a low-carbon society.
