Technip has declared that it has been awarded a contract for the engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) of a crude oil distillation unit at the Corinth refinery in Greece, by the Motor Oil (Hellas) Corinth Refineries S.A.
The unit will have a production capacity of 60,000 barrels per day, scheduled to be operational at the beginning of 2010 and with an investment level estimated to be at approximately €180m.
This project is part of the refinery expansion program and following the installation of the new unit, the total capacity of the refinery will exceed 170,000 barrels per day and Technip, involved in oil, gas and petrochemical engineering, sees its involvement as continuation of a previously strong relationship.
Technip’s operations and engineering centre in Rome, Italy will execute the contract, marking a new step in the long-standing and successful collaboration between Technip and Motor Oil, for whom Technip has already carried out several contracts in the Corinth refinery.
