Technica unveils new cryogenic strain sensors

0

Technica Optical Components has unveiled new fibre bragg grating (FBG) based strain sensors for operation in cryogenic environments to -270°C.

Launching the product line on Tuesday (27th April), Technica said the sensors are a valuable tool for monitoring and controlling industrial and commercial processes, equipment and infrastructure that must operate at low temperatures.

“Demand for specialty FBG sensors is growing as optical sensing applications continue their proliferation in aerospace, LNG monitoring, research in cold environments, and many other fields,” said Andrei Csipkes, President and CEO of Technica.

“Immune to lightning and electro-magnetic interference (EMI), small, light, multiplexable, and highly reliable, our new family of field proven cryogenic strain sensors is a valuable tool for monitoring and controlling industrial and commercial processes, equipment and infrastructure that must operate at low temperatures.”
