Taylor-Wharton certified for liquid hydrogen tank safety in Korea

Equipment manufacturer Taylor-Wharton has been officially certified for its liquid hydrogen storage tanks after the tanks exceeded required thermal performance standards.

The Korean Gas Safety Certification supports South Korea’s plans for the expansion of its hydrogen infrastructure, including the construction of what will be the world’s largest hydrogen liquefaction plant and numerous refuelling stations.

Stating that the company is proud to be at the forefront of the energy transition in South Korea, Tim Miller, President of Taylor-Wharton, said, “We recently delivered eight tanks that will hold a combined 32,000kg of LH2 that will be used for clean fuelling purposes.”

He added that these units are the first of many targeted for the region, continuing the progression to developing a clean hydrogen infrastructure.
