Stadler’s FLIRT H2 has picked up the Guinness World Record for the longest non-stop distance travelled by a hydrogen-powered train.
The hydrogen fuel cell-powered train recorded 2,803 kms over 46 hours on one tank of fuel across Colorado, following earlier tests in Switzerland.
It’s the second gong for Stadler which also holds the record for the longest journey with a battery multiple unit when the Akku model chalked up 224 kms in Germany.
