US semiconductor investments are on the rise, with over $210bn of new private investments having been announced across 19 states since spring 2020.
The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) unveiled this number with the release of its US Semiconductor Ecosystem Map. This is a new tool to allow users to explore industry activities across the country.
Along with many other details of the US semiconductor market, the map shows over 50 new semiconductor ecosystem projects and 44,000 new high-quality jobs to support the semiconductor ecosystem.
Together, the ecosystem projects cover a range of activities needed to bolster the US chip ecosystem, including new, expanded or upgraded fabs in various semiconductor segments, semiconductor equipment facilities and facilities to produce key materials for chips.
