Jammu-based Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital has commissioned a new 500 litres per minute (lpm) oxygen plant at its premises.
The new oxygen plant has been under trial for over two months and started full operations this week.
Set up with an investment of Rs 16.8m ($253,000), the new plant will provide uninterrupted oxygen supply in the hospital’s Emergency Ward, Operation Theatres, Critical Care Units (CCUs) and Intensive Care Units (ICUs).
The hospital has awarded the contract to set up installations to Delhi-based Uttam Air Products Private Limited, which has completed the work but, due to some delay in construction activity at the hospital premises, plant operations were delayed by four months.
