Oil and gas giant Shell has selected blue ammonia technology from Houston-based KBR for its Blue Horizon project in Duqm, Oman.
Under terms of a signed contract, KBR will supply its ammonia synthesis loop technology.
The proprietary engineering design will help Shell to produce 3,000 tonnes of ammonia per day from its domestically produced hydrogen.
Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, said he is excited to work with Shell on the project in Oman and contribute to Oman’s Vision 2040 targets.
