German fuel cell supplier SFC Energy (SFC) has begun the manufacture of hydrogen and methanol fuel cells at its New Delhi/Gurgaon site in India.
The start-up comes six months after the production facility was built by SFC in conjunction with is long-standing Indian partner FCTecNrgy (FCT).
With a targeted investment volume over the coming years set at €10m, the 35,000 square feet manufacturing and sales site will employ up to 100 people in the first phase.
In line with the ‘Make in India’ initiative, local production is expected to make an important contribution to India’s drive to decarbonise industry.
