Houston-based clean energy solutions company Pilot LNG has formed a joint venture with Seapath to develop, construct, and operate a liquified natural gas (LNG) bunkering facility in the US Gulf Coast.
Believed to be the first facility of its kind in the region, the project will require an initial investment of approximately $150m and will meet the requirements of the global and US trade corridor.
The site is set to begin operations in early 2026 said Seapath will provide the financial back for the project.
Jonathan Cook, CEO of Pilot, said,“We look forward to delivering a US Gulf Coast facility in a timely manner based on the extensive development work already completed to meet the significant needs for LNG fuel, which also supports ongoing decarbonisation across the industry.”
