Republican congresswoman Jean Schmidt (R-OH) paid a visitto the Harris Products Group on August 19, where she toured the company’s headquarters in Mason, Ohio.
The Harris Products Group employs about 600 people around the world; about 175 of whom are employed by the global headquarters in Mason, Ohio. Dave Nangle, the president of The Harris Products Group, invited Schmidt to give the congresswoman insights into the impact of the current economic conditions on U.S. manufacturing, tour the facility and talk to members of the Harris team.
“We appreciated the opportunity to hear from Representative Schmidt and discuss some topics of importance to us, like job creation, the ability to compete with overseas manufacturers and corporate tax reform,” Nangle said.
In additiontosharing the company’s history and the state of the business through the recent recession and the ongoing recovery, Nangle provided Schmidt and members of her staff with atour of the 250,500-square-foot facility. He explained how Harris alloys are produced from the raw material, to the end product alloys that customers use in manufacturing, construction, HVAC, refrigeration, metal fabrication and other industries.
