Nordic biogas producer Scandinavian Biogas (SB) has announced that it will establish a subsidiary company in Germany, in addition to undertaking development of two biogas production plants in the country with a combined capacity of around 240 gigawatt hours (GWh).
Having signed an agreement with German Biogas I Sverige AB today (14th April), SB stated that each production plant company will be co-owned by SB (85%) and German Biogas I Sverige AB (15%).
With final investment decisions to be made in 2024, the partners will invest around €90m ($100m) in the projects.
The group hope to take advantage of a growing appetite for biogas in Germany and wider Europe.
