RWE has posted a first half net income of €1.4bn and seen its ‘growing green’ strategy gather momentum with the launch of its green hydrogen electrolyser plant in Lingen, Germany.
CEO Markus Krebber said power production from renewables reached a record 26 Twh and accounted for 45% of total generation, and it continues to invest ‘billions of euros’ in creating a geographically and technologically broad portfolio. However, as of June 30, net debt totalled €11.4bn.
Alongside wind and solar, green hydrogen is now firmly in its sights.
This week saw Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck among local dignatories present when RWE commissioned its pilot electrolyser plant in Lingen.
