Royal Helium has started to load purified helium into specialised ISO trailers at its Steveville helium purification plant, marking the start of commercial sales from the Alberta-based site.
Volumes being shifted from the site will fulfil the Royal Helium’s offtake agreement with a North American aerospace customer, which will purchase volumes over the next several years.
The existing offtake agreements, established over the past two years, will deliver helium at an average price that exceeds $500 per thousand cubic feet (mcf).
Royal Helium has said its in discussions with several parties interested in establishing offtake agreements for its forthcoming facilities. The company plans to add several additional purification facilities in the upcoming calendar year.
