Ras Laffan Terminal Operations (RLTO), part of the Qatargas Operating Company, celebrates loading its 1000th cargo.
The feat was made still more extraordinary as it had been achieved without any lost time accident or hydrocarbon spillage during the four years of operation at the Terminal.
Fasail Al Suwaidi, Chairman and CEO of Qatargas, remarked on the achievement, “This is a very significant accomplishment for Qatargas in our journey to becoming the world’s Premier LNG Company by 2015. Celebration of this 1000th cargo by RLTO is, in fact, a celebration of the synergy between companies operating from Ras Laffan Industrial City, without whose cooperation and support, this achievement would not have been possible.”
Earlier this month a ceremony was held to commemorate the occasion onboard the vessel, Gulf Glory. The event was attended by Chief Operating Officer of Operations at Qatargas, Fred Smeenk, Terminal Manager at RLTO, Niels Jan Soepnel, and Operations Manager at RLTO, Mohammad Al Kuwari.
