Quantum Machines and Bluefors partner to advance quantum research

Quantum Machines has signed an extended OEM agreement with cryogenic measurement systems specialist Bluefors that will see the merging of existing technologies to advance quantum computing.

Through the signed deal, Quantum Machines’ QCage will be available through Bluefors. Additionally, customers will be able to order Blyefor systems with pre-integrated qubit chip holders from Quantum Machines.

It is thought this will save quantum computing researchers months of time that would have previously been focused on installation, verification, and collaboration.

Quantum computing is making significant strides in various sectors, including energy, providing insights for material development, supply chain optimisation, gas leak detection and environmental monitoring.

Moreover, there are a wide variety of cooling solutions for quantum computing, ranging from lab-size dilution refrigerators to small 4K table-top systems.

Omri Shoshan, Chief Business Officer of Quantum Machines, described the collaboration as a significant milestone in accelerating quantum research and development.

“Together, we will provide developers and researchers with an unparalleled experience, providing far higher levels of performance and enabling them to focus on advancing scientific knowledge.”

QCage is a sample holder system for microwave resonator-based quantum devices, allowing qubits to be operated with minimal losses and decoherence.

The innovation was previously features in a joint research paper between Bluefors and Quantum Machines, demonstrating a characterisation method for qubit microwave packaging and validating the product for high-fidelity qubit operations.

Mikko Nurminen, Chief Sales Officer of Bluefors, added, “This partnership enables the easier integration of our cutting-edge systems with Quantum Machines’ advanced solutions, and will empower researchers to achieve results faster.”

Earlier this year, Bluefors launched a gas handling system to help personnel working in quantum technology control cryogenic measurement systems.
