Pulsa launches cellular-powered telemetry solution for off-grid locations

Telemetry systems provider Pulsa has launched a new cellular-powered telemetry solution for locations with no power.

The Pulsa Frontier connects directly to cellular networks without a gateway or external power and can include third-party sensors from Chart, Cyl-Tec, Anova, Rotarex, and more into the Pulsa Dashboard.

Pulsa’s all-in-one device includes a cellular transmitter, a precision GPS engine, and support for up to two devices utilising 4-20mA or 0-5V outputs.

It auto-connects to the strongest available cellular signal from over 400 networks worldwide and sends reports every 10 minutes, with battery life that can last up to 20 years.

David Wiens, CEO of Pulsa, said, “At Pulsa, we’re always listening to our customers, and they told us they wanted an all-in-one solution that could report sensor data from anywhere, even where there’s no available power.”

“They also wanted the ability to track their assets with GPS and to incorporate any existing sensors already in the field so that they’d have a single, unified dashboard experience.”

Ideal locations for the solution include offshore settings, agricultural deployments, construction sites, and other outdoor areas where power isn’t ordinarily available.

Earlier this year, Pulsa was named the “IoT Analytics Platform of the Year” by the IoT Breakthrough Awards.

Led by market intelligence organisation IoT Breakthrough, the annual award recognises top companies, technologies, and products in the global internet of things (IoT) market.

Pulsa offers advanced telemetry systems for gas distributors and end customers, including restaurants, hospitality, medical, food services, and manufacturing businesses. Uniquely, Pulsa provides data intelligence regarding inventory assets in near-real time, delivering hundreds of readings per day from every sensor.
