Praxair, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Linde plc, will supply oxygen (O2) and other industrial gases to Shanghai Huayi, one of the largest chemical companies in China, at its new complex in Qinzhou, China.
The complex will manufacture methanol, acetic acid and other chemicals.
Praxair will build, own and operate three air separation units (ASUs) that will supply up to 7,500 tonnes per day (TPD) of O2 and 5,000 TPD of nitrogen to the site. The new plants will start up in the second half of 2020 and the complex is expected to be Praxair’s largest investment in China to-date.
“We are proud to expand our longstanding relationship with Shanghai Huayi by continuing to provide a reliable supply of gases to its operations,” said Will Li, President of Praxair China. “This new project will further demonstrate our strengths in supporting major chemical industry projects and allow us to build density in south China – a region positioned for future growth.”
