Tier One company, Praxair, is set to invest in excess of $100m in its Geismar facility, Louisiana, to expand its carbon monoxide production (CO) capabilities.
Under the funding, the US corporation will add a new, purification train capable of producing 13 million standard cubic feet of CO per day. The modernisation also includes a CO cold box and various other upgrades, which are expected to be completed in the second half of 2018.
Dr. Samir Serhan, President of Global Hydrogen at the Connecticut-based business, underlined, “Our investment will result in increased supply for our customers throughout the region as we continue to see the growth of their own production capabilities. We are committed to serving this accelerating marketplace by expanding our network.”
