International leader in high performance materials and products, Porvair Filtration Group, will be proudly showcasing its extensive range of innovative solutions at the Gasification Technologies Conference in Washington DC.
Porvair has been offering gas filtration advancements to the industry for more than 30 years, and is looking forward to sharing its expertise at the world’s largest event of its kind, taking place from October 26-29.
Porvair has a wealth of experience in the design and manufacture of filtration systems that operate with IGCC (Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle) gasification of coal and petroleum coke. The company has designed and manufactured equipment for processes such as PFBC (Pressurised Fluidised Bed Combustion), and the filtration of biomass and pelletised MSW (Municipal Solid Waste). As testament to its performance and technology, Porvair was recently awarded the contract for design and supply of the filtration system for the largest gasification plant in the world at Jamnagar refinery in India, operated by Reliance Industries.
Filter elements are essential in processes that have requirements to consistently remove fine particulate and/or large quantities of solids. Removal of the particulate at this stage removes the need for wet scrubbing and significantly reduces waste remediation costs. Filtration at these more elevated temperature stages permits greater heat recovery from the process which benefits the system economics.
