Sports car manufacturer Porsche is taking the next step in its sustainability journey by exploring the potential of integrating direct air capture (DAC) into its e-fuels pilot plant in Chile.
Alongside partners Volkswagen Group Innovation, e-fuels company HIF Global and MAN Energy Solutions, Porsche is looking to install DAC technology at the plant in a joint effort to reduce emissions and remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere.
At the IAA summit held in Munich in September, project planners worked with Porsche to show how DAC fits with the company’s strategy and how such a facility could work.
