Polskie LNG has signed a contract with Selas-Linde for the delivery of Submerged Combustion Vaporisers (SCV) to help progress the expansion programme at Polskie LNG’s LNG terminal in Świnoujście.
SVCs devices are used to change the physical state of LNG into volatile, which is pumped to gas transmission pipelines and finally to households and industrial plants. In the regasification process, natural gas expands almost six hundred times increasing its volume.
The Świnoujście LNG terminal currently has five vaporisers installed, four in operation and one redundant. The terminal currently exports 5 billion m3 but expects exports of up to 7.5 billion m3 after completion of the expansion programme.
