Sweden-based aluminium alloy supplier Stena Aluminium (Stena) will work alongside zero emission vehicle manufacturer Polestar as a development partner for the Polestar 0 project, which aims to create a completely climate-neutral car by 2030.
To do this, the partnership must produce an alloy with zero carbon footprint, which the manufacturer can use in the production of a climate neutral car.
The alloys manufactured by Stena currently average 0.7 tonnes of carbon emissions per tonne of aluminium produced.
Stating that the project is in line with Stena’s sustainability strategy, Erik Petre, Head of Sales and Purchasing at Stena Aluminium, added, “It’s of great advantage that Stena and Polestar as well as other partners cooperate in our common efforts to eliminate carbon emissions.”
