Royal Philips has unveiled a virtually helium-free mobile MRI system to European audiences – providing a lifeline for patients in remote areas and a solution to growing concerns over helium supply chain disruptions.
First installed in 2018, Philips’ BlueSeal magnet is a proven and reliable technology – with more than 1,000 installations to date – but the electronics company is now debuting the BlueSeal MR mobile unit developed in Europe for Denmark-based Agito Medical Imaging, at the European Congress of Radiology (#ECR2024), after it was exhibited at Radiological Society of North America (#RSNA2023) exhibition in Chicago.
MR systems equipped with Philips’ BlueSeal magnet technology have saved more than 1.9 million litres of helium in the last six years.
