Parker Bestobell, a cryogenic valve manufacturer and subsidiary of the Parker Hannifin Corporation, has been involved in a mentoring project with Bradfield School in Sheffield, UK, aimed to inspire budding engineers.
The UK-based outfit was one of the exhibitors at the ‘Get up to Speed’ (GUTS) event, which was held at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, on 20th April. Around 2,000 children from over 40 schools attended, with over 50 businesses demonstrating from across the area.
Parker’s stand challenged pupils to assemble a valve in the quickest time possible, with the champion winning an Amazon Fire HD tablet, as well as designing a factory floor cleaning station and building a Heijunka – an organiser in which work dockets can be stored in the facity.
