UK-based pressure control equipment manufacturer Oxford Flow is approaching a milestone four-year period of continual operation with no required maintenance or servicing for its gas regulators.
Its IM100 range of regulators were installed by gas network operators Scotia Gas Network (SGN) at a District Pressure Governor (DPG) in Ayrshire, UK in 2019.
Fitted with their PRX1 Pilots, in both active and active-monitor configurations, the regulators use piston-technology instead of a diaphragm, which reduces wear and eliminates fugitive emissions.
According to Oxford Flow, the IM100 operated with an intermediate to medium pressure of 7-2 bar in the SGN network, maintaining a setpoint accuracy of +/-2.5%, stabilising five to ten seconds compared to the replaced incumbent regulator.
